Learn More About Your New 2019 Kaiser Permanente Medicare Advantage (HMO) Plans

Keep a good thing going

We are pleased to introduce Kaiser Permanente Medicare Advantage plans in 2019. Medicare Advantage (also known as Medicare Part C) is a nationally recognized managed care option. It helps millions of Medicare beneficiaries stay healthy, with coverage for hospitalization, medical care, and prescription drugs.

The new 2019 Medicare Advantage plans are being offered to our members in Washington, DC, and parts of Maryland. They will replace the current Medicare Plus (Cost) plans.

to find out if the change to Medicare Advantage applies to you.

The change to Medicare Advantage applies to you if you live in Washington, DC, Baltimore City, or Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Charles (if you are enrolled in Medicare Plus through your employer, union, or trust fund group), Harford, Howard, Montgomery, or Prince George's County in Maryland AND your member ID card shows one of the following three-digit numbers in the location circled in the example below: 002, 009, 017, 021, 022, or 033.

Look for the three-digit number on your member ID card where circled in this example. If you live in one of the cities or counties listed above and the number on your card is 002, 009, 017, 021, 022, or 033, the information on this web site applies to you.

If you live in one of these cities or counties but the three-digit number does not match those listed above, you should have received a letter from us telling you that you must re-enroll in a new plan for 2019. We will send you a Kaiser Permanente Medicare Advantage (HMO) enrollment kit by October 1. You can mail in your application or you can apply on or after October 15, 2018 either online at kp.org/medicare or by phone at 1-888-777-9909 (TTY 711), 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week.

We will transfer your membership from your current plan to the new Medicare Advantage plan. There's nothing you need to do to make the switch; just leave everything to us. You will receive a new Medicare Advantage member ID card before the end of December, and your membership in the new plan will start on January 1, 2019.

Thank you for entrusting your care to Kaiser Permanente. Please be assured your health and satisfaction are our utmost priority. Our goal is to ensure your transition is smooth and your health care continues uninterrupted. We welcome your continued membership and look forward to providing you the high- quality care and coverage you've come to expect.
